We Fly Today
We fly to Guatemala today. Please pray for a safe journey.
Newlyweds on a mission.
While in Yosemite we went to rent bikes and randomly started talking with the bike rental manager. His name is Sean Costello. Larry (Brian's dad) said "my mother is a Costello." And Sean responded by saying the Costellos come from the Aran Islands of Ireland. "Yes," said Larry. "My grandfather John Costello came from Aran Islands and worked in the Alameda, California shipyards." Sean looked shocked and said "You may not believe this, but my grandfather Tom Costello came from the Aran Islands and also worked in the Alameda, California shipyards." At this point we were all amazed an
d guessed that Tom & John must have been cousins. That night we called Larry's mother and asked if she knew a Tom Costello. "Oh, yeah! Uncle Tommy," she said. John & Tom were BROTHERS! So we found a piece of our long lost family that we didn't even know existed. Plans are in the making for a family get together sometime next summer.
We've started our migration south, and have made it safe to California. The next several weeks we will be visiting with family. Please pray for us as we prepare our hearts and minds to leave the country very soon. We continue our migration south September 27th, flying from Sacramento and arriving in Guatemala City.
